In this experiment, four pairs of players (CR, DR, ER, FR) played the same maze (M1E) for 1 hour. The duration of each play was recorded for each pair's attempt at the maze.

The plot shows that two of the pairs showed a decrease in the duration of each play over the course of the hour while one pair increases and the fourth pair is fairly constant.

The duration of play only tells how long the ball was on the maze's surface. It doesn't give a good picture of the degree of collaboration between players.

In the maze called M1E, there are ten stages with each stage representing a potential failure point. If a pair fails at the first failure point, a "1" is entered. If the pair completes the maze, a "10" is entered.

This plot summarizes the progression of each pair of players as they undertake successive attempts at the maze. In general, there is an increasing trend in all four groups - they make more progress along the maze during the session.

This is to be expected as each individual player improves the quality of their contribution to the ball's motion through the maze.

For each play, the stage of the maze achieved (between 1 and 10) is divided by the time it took to complete that attempt. This is called the "performance ratio" and it is an indicator of collaborative development between players.

If a pair of players can negotiate challenges more quickly through time, this is only because they are working together better. Performance is a measure of collaborative growth.

This plot shows the performance ratio for all pairs during the whole session. All pairs experience an increase in performance ratio.
